HOW TO ENABLE MULTI CORE PROCESSING ON YOUR PC/LAPTOP
It is a common problem in the most of the PC's. Happens to almost every one. Sometime a dual core, quad core or an octa core processor will show only one core. Which means that one core is working and the remaining cores are sleeping. It cause your PC to be stuck at 100% CPU usage.
What is a core?
A processor core is a processing unit which reads in instructions to perform specific actions. Instructions are chained together so that, when run in real time, they make up your computer experience. Literally everything you do on your computer has to be processed by your processor. Whenever you open a folder, that requires your processor. When you type into a word document, that also requires your processor. Things like drawing the desktop environment, the windows, and game graphics are the job of your graphics card — which contains hundreds of processors to quickly work on data simultaneously — but to some extent they still require your processor as well.
First you have to check your processor's architecture to see if it really is multi core.
To do that you have two options
One, go and search online.
Two, check in device manager.
Here is the process
Step 1) Go to device manager.
Step 2) Click and expand Processors
You will see the number of cores and threads you have in your PC.
If for some reasons your task manager shows a single core
Here is how to enable all cores on it.
Step 1) Go to device manager.
Step 2) Click and expand processors.
Step 3) Right click on one processor and uninstall it.
Step 4) Do not restart yet.
Step 5) Go on and uninstall all of the processor drivers.
Step 6) Restart your computer.
Step 7) Go to task manager.
Step 8) Go to Performance.
It will now you all the cores and thread you have on your Laptop or PC
